Blogs I Follow
Eat Our Brains The brain child of Steve Gould.
Chrononaut Log David Moles smart and funny observations. Actually, what I really love about his log is the design, which fills me with envy.
Pen in Hand I've known Karen for years, but didn't know that in addition to being a writer and a journalist and a volunteer at the local raptor center, she is also a beautiful illustrator. The most beautiful blog I follow.
Austin Kleon It seems absurd to talk about this blog without including any images, but lets just say it's fun, sharp and graphical.
Not a Journal (Except Now It Is) If this were a blog, it would be about Small Beer and Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet, except it's not a blog. Except it really is.

The office looks wonderful. That pumpkin is a good color, fyi. My dining room is the same shade. watch out for the mocking, however. The Hub and I both have degrees from the Univeristy of Texas and we get a lot of folk who scream "hook 'em!" when they see the room.
Jealous!!!
Hell, Chris, you live in Japan. My 11' by 12' room is almost the size of Tokyo apartment!
(My entire understanding of Tokyo apartments is based on the movie Tampopo, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092048/ and should not be taken to represent reality.)
I've been meaning to clean my apartment since, uhm. Er. Eh...uh oh.
I think I'm just going to move into a new apartment and start all over with new stuff. Or I'll let myself be inspired by these posts and get to work on cleaning. One of the two.
No, you're about right. I mean, there are bigger apartments in Tokyo of course, but you gotta have a lot of money to afford them. My own apartment in a suburb (and not necessarily a close one--50 minutes out of the city by train) has two main rooms. One the size of your office. Which is my bedroom/living room. And the other one is my kitchen which also has a toilet room and a shower stall inserted into one wall. It's all very functional and I will actually miss the efficient feel of it all when I'm gone. But I've always been a "get rid of it" person, instead of a "keep it" so it's perfect for my personality, this sort of space and its requirement that you keep only what is necessary with a few highlights of adornment. That's really where the whole "less is more" thing comes from here, I think! There's no space for More! You gotta see the beauty in less!
But I am jealous that you have an office. I have a corner of my bedroom/living room/ that functions as office. It's a small drafting table where my phone and laptop sit. That's all. lol
