Austin!
We're here! We've got no furniture, and the dogs kind of want to go home, but we're here! I'm actually surfing off a neighbor's internet connection and won't have a real connection until Monday. I can only get this one by sitting on the backyard deck. The photo of the deck above is actually from August but the deck still looks pretty much the same. Except now it's getting dark and chilly.
The furniture comes on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Welcome home, Maureen. By the way, we still must do the interview for Pen in Hand. I'll figure out how to do that. Perhaps by phone.
Welcome to your new home! Wish I could be there to toast you and Bob and the dogs.
Ellen
Glad you folks made it!
How many road miles did it take?
My guess would be 1500+.
It took exactly 1480 miles. It would have been shorter but I screwed up when we stopped for our last Skyline Chili outside of Dayton. We don't have to talk about that.
Congratulations on your arrival!
Cool that your neighbor has wireless. I wish mine did.
We were watching the news tonight, and they talked about the feral pig problem in Texas. Do you have feral pigs in your yard?
Tom
Tom, not unless you count Shelly, who while something of a piglet is anything but feral.
And there was much gladness in the land of New Mexico. (Witness Walter's earlier gladness.)
(my word verification was obrfg which must stand for "on being rude french guy.")
The moving van has had engine troubles. No furniture until tomorrow. I'm officially whining.
So....
Do you have the biggest box fort in the neighborhood yet?
You betcha, and we haven't finished unpacking. Although I can almost see it from here...
We last moved six years ago, and there are still a few boxes that have not been unpacked, and one or two of those go back to our previous move a few years before that.
Tom
meghan still really wants to move there (and adopt a dachschund) but i still get freaked out seeing my name in a context other than, well, my name...
awesome that you guys are settling in!
The deck looks beautiful. The light, the sky--all make me a little homesick. I really hope you like it there.
Laura, still in Berea (but liking it here too)
